About Hopton House

rest, relax,
recharge & explore

Welcome to our Luxury Shropshire B&B near Ludlow

If you’re looking for somewhere a bit special to rest and unwind following a day out exploring the Shropshire Hills – Hopton House, a converted granary, is probably  the B&B for you.

Relax  after your journey. A whole homemade lemon drizzle cake and homemade shortbread biscuits will be waiting for you in your room. There’s fresh milk and local mineral water in the silent mini fridge and a range of loose leaf teas or freshly roasted coffee. Just sit back and enjoy the views.

Plan your stay using our books and maps, which you’re welcome to borrow for your stay.  In the evening, enjoy some of the clearest night skies in England and listen to the owls.

The rooms at our Shropshire B&B are warm and pampering, all large and en-suite with double ended baths and separate powerful showers, the super king size beds  so comfortable  that you may find it difficult to get up for breakfast, which is a leisurely affair served from 8.30 till 10.00; lots of choice for meat eaters, with the best local sausages and bacon, and vegetarians alike. Our Eggs Benedict and Blueberry Pancakes are very popular with guests.

If you want to bring your dog away with you we welcome dogs in our Barn Room. Please look at our dog friendly page for more information.

We have one ground floor room.

We don’t offer an evening meal but the fabulous Jolly Frog & The Lion restaurants are just 3 miles away. If you prefer to stay in we can leave a platter in your room fridge. From £12.50 per person we can do a local cheese, smoked salmon,  ploughmans or deli platter ( 48 hours notice required ) – feel free to bring your own wine. Wine glasses & corkscrews supplied!

We look forward to welcoming you soon for what we hope will be the first of many visits.
