We’re racing into Summer here in Shropshire. Jess came home from London for the weekend and couldn’t believe how green it was all looking.
The wildflower meadow has been looking striking with masses of red campion and now the oxeye daisies are starting to pop.
If you live in the UK you’ll know the weather has its ups and downs but we have had some glorious days as well as the rain. Guests have kept dry by visiting our local NT places ( Powis is a favourite ), The Judges Lodgings down in Presteigne and going the Severn Valley Steam Railway.
Last Wednesday was glorious. It was a misty morning and I took the dogs out early before breakfast and we romped through the buttercups. I then drove down through Herefordshire to meet a friend at Pembridge. Pembridge is on the black & white building trail. My friend and I met at Ye Steppes tea room – a really lovely find. The staff were incredibly friendly and I’m pretty sure the scones were freshly baked to order….worth a visit
