It’s baby bird season here at Hopton House. A pair of sparrows have nested in an open fronted box right next to the guest dining room window. Guests have been lingering long over breakfast watching the parents feed the birds.
On Saturday they finally fledged, much to the delight of the honeymoon couple who were eating their breakfast at the time!
I’ve kept a constant supply of suet pellets with mealworms going. The single blue tit parent is flying backwards and forwards from the box to the feeder. And now we have another mother taking full advantage of the free food supply.
