Eating Out
We are lucky to have lots of lovely pubs and restaurants within easy driving distance of the house.
You can get the train to Knighton or Bucknell. If you want a taxi please, please, please book one in advance! There aren't many around here and we don't want you to be disappointed. We recommend Ron at Rocket Cars on 07890 904732
The Jolly Frog Country Restaurant, which specialises in fish dishes, is just 3 miles away ( not open Monday evening ). In the summer we love to order half a lobster and fries with a crisp dry white and enjoy the fabulous views from their deck.
The Lion at Leintwardine, 3 miles away, is an upmarket Pub which serves good food. Karen loves their fish and chips but always ordered the skinny fries. In the summer it's a great place to sit by the river.
Also in Leintwardine is the Sun Inn, one of the last remaining Parlour Pubs in the country. Now part owned by Hobson's Brewery it's a great place to sit and enjoy a proper pint and maybe fish and chips which you can order in from the chippie next door.
Three miles away at Bucknell you'll find the Baron of Beef. This is traditional country pub with good pub grub.
If you don't want to drive you can get the train from us at about 6.45 ( do check the timetables before you leave ) and go down to Knighton at eat at the Horse and Jockey, which does good food. Get the train back at about 9.30 - we recommend you book your dinner just in case they're full as they are very popular!
Just opened at the Ludlow Food Centre ( about 8 miles from us ) is The Ludlow Kitchen. We have yet to try it but it looks promising. The café at the Ludlow Food Centre is always a favourite spot for lunch.
Bishops Castle has several pubs with home brewed beer and great food. And of course we are just a 20 minute drive from Ludlow with its plethora of dining opportunities.
